Hey all, Thought I'd start a thread where we could introduce ourselves, share whatever and get to know each other. Assuming the mods don't mind. Anyways, I'm Scott....long time music person first time Lockn (already got my ticket) and going solo though I'm meeting some friends there. I'm married with two girls and work at raising money for non-profits. I started out listening to Jazz which actually led me to Frank Zappa and believe it or not, led me to the Dead which then changed my life forever by doing mini-tours with Phish. Like to brag I was an early Phan back when they were playing bars, but now I'm old enough not to care about anything other than living well and grooving. I'm SUPER excited about going to Lockn. Every year I kept telling myself I needed to go but kept thinking going alone would suck. I went to Festy last year and had such an amazing time I realized going solo was no big deal at all. So, I look forward to getting to know ya'll and jamming!! Peace and love.

Great idea musicphan! Hey, I know you from the Lockn Forum! My memory fails me at the moment, but did you make it to the forums M&G last Sept? Even when I was a kid I loved music. I remember when I was about 14, I used to carry my transistor radio everywhere. I recall hearing CCR's Suzie Q when that first came out and also the Door's Light My Fire. When Led Zeppelin came out with their first album I immediatly loved it. Some people I knew at the time weren't too crazy about it, but I figured they're musical interests weren't as blues related as mine were at the time. I grew up in the seventies listening to progressive rock FM stations that had minimal commercials back then and was inspired by Peter Green of the early Fleetwood Mac music as well as Hendrix, The Beatles, The Doors, and then The Allman Brothers, J. Geils, Pink Floyd and Especially Led Zeppellin. I attended literally hundreds of Arena concerts all thru the seventies. My first concert was in '70 to see Black Sabath and Humble Pie. I paid $3.50. I Saw Pink Floyd in '73. The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, sheesh so many I cant remember right now. I do remember some of those times very vaguely, but one time really stands out. It was when we were at the Deep Purple Machine Head Concert in Tampa Florida sometime in '72 I think, and this one band came on. They were the first band in a three band show that night and just blew everyone away! After they did their encore I remember everyone asking; "Who the hell was that band, and someone replied; " That was ZZTop. First time for many of us and they were incredible!
I saw a few shows in the following decades but not near as many as I did when I was younger. About two years ago I went down to Florida to visit my Son and Daughter. My Son and I started talking about Wanee Festival and he encouraged me to go to it. I was somewhat reluctant at the time, but I told him that I would check it out online when I got back home. Well, the more I saw, the more I knew this was right up my alley! Only problem was that the next Wanee Fest was more than ten months away. Sooo, I looked around and found the Lockn Fest was not too far from me and that it was only a month or two away. So to get my festival feet wet as they say, I went to the first Lockn Fest by myself. I didn't know anyone. But I went and when I got there I made some really good friends and had the best time! I was hooked!
I eventually made it out to my first Wanee, and then of course to the second Lockn Fest. Currently I am diligently preparing for my second Wanee this April. I like Wanee quite a bit. Great times and great atmosphere, but maybe it's because I cut my festival teeth on Lockn, I dunno, but Lockn is my baby. Lockn is my favorite festival hands down!

Hi my name is Bonnie. This will be my 2nd year at lockn. Loved it so much last year me and hubby already have tickets for this year. I started partying when the gates opened last year. My hubby would stay out of the sun for the day acts last year. It looked like I was by myself but I wasn't lol. Met some really nice people last year. Looking forward to seeing more acts and meeting more people. This won't be my only festival this year. Going to Merlefest in April. Can't wait for both festivals. love my music.

EnjoyingTheRide (aka: Jeff) here! Been to both Lockn's and going again this year. We've hit the last 5 Wanee's, all Peach's, and a few GOTV's and MJ's. All I can say is "too many festivals and not enough time off"...

Hi all Jean here. This will be our third Lockn. I am coming from Florida and my brother is coming from Brooklyn. I lived in Brooklyn for 48 years and have been here in south florida now for 11 years. We are not camping, we stay at Wintergreen and make a mini vacation out of this festival. We all arrive two days before the festival and enjoy the spa and relaxation. I look forward to meeting you all. I am also a wharf rat if there are any other wharf rats here.

I'm eric. 38 years old, and im not right. I live about 45 minutes from the farm. This will be my third go round. I travel this big beautiful country installing all manner of industrial machinery and just about anything else hooked up to electricity. Y'all may be familiar with me from my nonsense on the FB group. I spend my freetime gardening and raging with my Boo Ruthie. Lockn just so happens to be our anniversary of finding one another 12 years ago. Looking forward to some handshakes and hugs from this group.
